Production of natural fish is possible at higher densities in pond farming in part due to the advantageous conditions of Algarve’s estuaries, including clean water, tidal renovation, temperate weather, and nutrient-rich environment.

In our business, however, we are taking pond farming to new levels. We are achieving even greater efficiencies and better results through the use of the most adequate technologies, to closely monitor each pond for erosion, water renovation, oxygen levels, bacteria counts, pathologies, temperature, nutrition, predation, and intrusion. Our careful management attempts to preserve the ideal natural conditions for humans, animals, and the environment—working with nature, not against it. For example, to treat certain ailments or handle fish during sampling, instead of antibiotics or other chemicals, we use essential oils.

The result is Europe’s best-kept secret in aquaculture: Efficient and scalable production of naturally farmed European seabass and gilthead seabream, where we have a sustainable competitive advantage.
